Tunisia: Revise the Draft Constitution. An Analysis of Human Rights Concerns. By Human Rights Watch.
It should include a general clause directly incorporating into Tunisian law human rights as defined by international treaties ratified by Tunisia, including the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights and the African Charter on Human and People’s Rights, and customary international law. Such treaties and customary law should form an integral part of the law of Tunisia under the new constitution. The assembly should also include a clause stating that the rights and freedoms set out in the constitution bind the legislature, the executive, the judiciary, and all the organs of the state.

Instead, Rector treats illegal immigrants as the moral inferiors of poor Americans. He wouldn't advocate exile for Americans who consume more in benefits than they pay in taxes. He wouldn't want to revoke poor Americans' citizenship, saving taxpayer money by denying the poor the right to legally work, drive, or fly. Why not? Because like almost everyone, Rector knows that these "solutions" are far worse than the problem. Welfare may be bad. But trying to curtail the welfare state by exiling people likely to collect welfare is monstrous. If this is clear for native-born Americans with all their advantages, it should be even clearer for immigrants whose only crime is selling their labor to willing employers without government permission.

Working in collusion with the CNE, the Chavista machine also has identified about 3,400 of the country’s 13,000 polling stations where they concentrate their voter mobilization efforts. The CNE assigns well-trained members of the Miranda Front to serve, not as observers but as election officials, to run the voting process in these target centers.

‘Support of Underground Excavations in Hard Rock’ is the most complete and up-to-date manual for use in the design of excavations and support mechanisms for underground mines.
This work resulted from close collaboration between industry and university in the fields of pre-competitive research. The mining industry provided funding and advisory support through the recently formed Mining Research Directorate (MRD). The Universities of Toronto, Laurentian and Queen's, under the direction of Professors Hoek, Kaiser and Bawden, provided the stimulus and facility for carrying out the tasks. These professors were assisted by some 40 engineers and graduate students who researched knowledge sources and experience world-wide.
The final product includes three computer programs: DIPS, UNWEDGE and PHASES. These programs were funded jointly by the mining industry, through the MRD, and by the Universities Research Incentive Fund.
This Canadian book and the associated programs should prove to be an invaluable contribution to the training of mining engineers and technologists at universities and colleges throughout the world, and should prove extremely useful to underground mining practitioners, everywhere. The overall focus is directed towards more productive, safer and environmentally sound mining operations.
The book ‘Support of Underground Excavations in Hard Rock’ testifies to the willingness of Canadian industries and universities to collaborate in the field of pre-competitive research and learning, to jointly pursue excellence, and to work together towards the economic and social betterment of our society.

No hubo víctimas mortales de aquella operación, pero el gobierno cubano fusiló entonces a tres de los secuestradores luego de un juicio sumario, y a estos primos los encarceló.

The living conditions of the poor as defined by the government bear little resemblance to notions of “poverty” promoted by politicians and political activists. If poverty is defined as lacking adequate nutritious food for one’s family, a reasonably warm and dry apartment, or a car to go to work when one is needed, then the United States has relatively few poor persons. Real material hardship does occur, but it is limited in scope and severity.
